Dance Objectives

  • Use the best practices of Ice and Roller skating
  • Promote the sport in an atmosphere of good sportsmanship,
  • Holding events that are challenging and fun to skate and watch
  • Introduce some novelty,
  • Maintain a solid structure beneath.
  • Introduce no surprises to the skaters or the judges so that skaters, judges and coaches can know how performances will be rewarded.
  • Rely upon USARS rules because they have been amended to accommodate inlines already.
  •  The coaches need to know the highlights in advance, to prepare their skaters properly.

Dance Judging

  • The judges will consider the following items:
  • Differences in age, strength, and equipment
  • Good, solid, attractive dancing in lieu of pattern size and costume design.
  • Good timing, edge quality, baseline adherence, close footwork, technique, posture and presentation.
  • Judges will judge the first skater first, then judge the second skater,
  • Skates will get  a score between 50 and 100 for each dance
  • Use standard USARS rules for breaking ties.
