Artistic

 

Time: 1:30-2:00 minutes � 30 secs maximum are allowed for the skater to get on the floor and setup any necessary props in accordance with General Rules on Props.

Vocal Music: Permitted

Props: Permitted

Number of Skaters: 1

This is an artistic, not a technical event.

 

Description: Program should be designed to evoke an emotional response. Emphasis is placed upon artistry, beauty, and innovative movements rather than on the technical difficulty of the individual items preformed.

 

Judging Criteria: Programs will be scored upon artistic impression, musical interpretation, choreography, body carriage, flow, and edge quality only. Although any skating element is allowed, there will be no points awarded for technical difficulty of the items preformed.

 

Interpretive

 

Time: 2:00 minutes

Music: Vocal music permitted

Props: Not permitted

Number of Skaters: 1

This is an artistic, not a technical event.

 

Description: Skaters will hear a piece of music played once as they wait off the floor. The music will be repeated twice during their warm up; then, they will be called on the floor to skate to it.

 

Judging Criteria: Programs will be scored on choreography, musical interpretation, artistic impression, flow and carriage only. Although any skating element is allowed, there will be no points awarded for technical difficulty of the items preformed.
